Economic stresses in society continue to reduce livable housing options for those who are less well off. Market dynamics and inequities in housing markets are pushing rent burdens higher resulting in fewer affordable housing units available for seniors. CFPC seeks to relieve these imbalances and reduce the burden of assistance felt by families, friends, communities and government.
HUD Section 202 tax incentives help support CFPC's efforts to increase affordable housing. As part of HUD's mission to help the homeless progress back to the mainstream of American life, project based 202 subsidies (known by their section number in the U.S. Housing Act) are specifically intended for assisting the elderly households which are at the center of CFPC's ongoing efforts to improve the quality of life and promote positive change in our neighborhoods and communities.
